Pro ty co ale na fórum nechodí, nebo to nechtějí číst - zaujalo mě pár vět a tipů z úst vývojářů, které se pokusím neumně vytrhnout z kontextu
The model, however- is a completely different animal. At the time FSX was released, the MD-11 visual model was nearing completion in 3DStudio and was designed specifically to take advantage of many new features within FSX. Our previous products had been modeled in GMAX, a hobbled and no longer supported platform being kept alive only by Microsoft's decision to use it for FS9. As the initial FSX release began to progress poorly, we discovered- to our dismay- that we cannot export the existing MD-11 model into FS9. The only platform for which this model is compatible is FSX.
FSX SP1 supports up to 256 separate CPU cores - yes you read that right. It uses quads and will use the new 8 core CPUs coming out as well.
You know- I completely understand folks who don't want to upgrade their hardware just yet- as a whole host of DX10 capable hardware is on the way. Personally- I'm not upgrading my hardware until around the time we release the PMDG MD-11...
PMDG is an international company, with nearly half our members in the EU along with 85% of our customers
For some time- we had very grave concerns about the overall future of the Flight Simulator brand based on how poorly the FSX release went. This has never happened before- and as addon developers, "we get what we get- we deal with it and we move on."
So the net effect has been that most developers found themselves unable to produce native FSX addons with the RTM version of FSX. This has just changed dramatically in the last few days- so the inertia should take over very shortly! |
