We are aware of a number of problems, which are mainly situated in the Czech
Republic. We think that we tracked down the cause and are in the face of

Sometimes it is not easy for us to find these kind of problems, and then
situations can arise where it takes a bit longer to get it resolved, I
apologize for any inconvenience this could cause to you and the people that

Please note that FSMetar can also download weather from IVAO. It might need a
small correction in the configuration files through to match the new metar
retrieval url which you can find in this document:

This will not help, the IvAp version has nothing todo with this problem. We
believe the problem is caused due the fact that our servers do not recognise
the airports in the Czech Republic.

No, we won't revert to the old server for this issue, mainly due the fact that
the WX server seems to give pretty good results for the big part of the
community, only some issues exists which are -according to our information-
mainly focussed for the airports in the Czech Republic.

The numbers are limited, and its mostly related to the Czech Republic from our
information.

No please not, unless they notice problems in other areas, it is not needed to
report the same issue multiple times.

Hello Tomas,
I really doubt that people stop flying on IVAO due to weather issues.
The old weather server was a lot worse then the new one which has much more
enhanced features.
Putting us under pressure with such far fetched ideas...
VATSIM weather is extremely basic and only based on METAR - which is only a
very small part of the weather environment. And also causes huge problems in
areas with a lot of military airports which do not provide METAR on a 24 hour
basis and as a such incorrect information (old metar) are used which cause
even more problems. One cannot compare their "weather" to our environment.
The Softdev department and especially Fabien who did a wonderful job in
developing the new weather server have been continuously working to improve
the weather server - several updates and fixes have been sent to the Logistics
department to improve the quality of the server.
Logistics department is is responsible for implementing the servers and
maintenance of the servers. We as developers do not have access to any of the
servers!!
Yesterday evening we stumbled upon a huge blunder of the Logistics department
which was a big surprise to us and can explain the complaints some people have
issues with weather. Apparently a lot of the servers are still running an old
FSD server version which is NOT compatible with the new weather server,
causing the weather data to be incorrect. This is also causing inter server
issues with high bandwidth loss.
As long as Logistics is not running the correct server versions (the latest
build as delivered by softdev together with the new weather server), we cannot
guarantee a stable network environment which we have in our test lab since
weeks.
In the meantime our team is continuously improving the quality and the
accuracy of the weather server and of course working on new developments which
will even increase the quality level of our network compared to other networks
who currently do not have the same enhanced features we can provide to our
users.
